You Wanna an Iguana?
This picture was take on February 25, 2013, which will be a year ago tomorrow. It was taken at the resort that my husband and I stayed at for our honeymoon. Obviously, it is a picture of two iguanas, the smaller one I am assuming is a female because the big one was walking after her and bobbing his head... and, obviously, the big dude is a dude. I think the big guy was trying to get the little female's number.
I was looking through my Mexico pictures and noticed the only pictures I took on February 24, 2013 were pictures of the fancy folded towel "animals" (pictured above). I think because on the 23rd, we went to Chichen Itza and the day after we were so tired, we didn't do anything but hangout on the beach. Man... I wish I was on the beach right now, that would be nice.
Well, hope everyone has a great one, whether you're on a beach or not. Happy Imagining!

Only About Four Weeks Until Spring!
I know that a majority of Americans are sick of winter right now, but, you do have to admit, it can be pretty sometimes. This is actually a picture from our old apartment back in 2009. In the courtyard there were little trees, they looked nice when it snowed because the snow landed so perfect on these trees and the buildings surrounded the courtyard, so wind wouldn't disturb the snow on the branches.
Just about 4 weeks left til spring, hang in there! Happy Imagining!

I Found Nemo!
This is a picture of a Nemo I painted on my Godson's old bedroom wall. I'm glad I took a picture of it because they moved a couple of years ago. His whole room was an underwater theme, so, several different people picked up a paintbrush and painted sea creatures. It was a fun project.
Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, since tomorrow is Friday! Happy Imagining!

It's a Bird... No, It's a Plane... NO... It's a Space Ship! (Made From a Highlighter)
This is the coolest thing ever... and my Dad made it! Ok, I may have a biased opinion here, but, I still think it's the coolest thing ever... at least, one of the coolest things ever. This is a space ship made by my Father back in his SFX modeling days. This one is made from an old highlighter, specifically, the body is the highlighter. And, many other little objects are added to give the appearance of a space ship; for example, the "jet tubes" on the wings are drywall screws.
Here is a picture of the cap off the highlighter, it still has a tiny bit of ink and puts a little blue on paper.
Here's a view looking straight at it from the front.
And, here is a bottom view.
Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed this post of my Father's highlighter space ship. There are more space ships in my Mother's storage area that I'm getting to, bigger ones, made from old canister vacuums, they are very cool! Happy Imagining!

Captain America's Shield... Take One...
Most people will recognize this symbol... yes, it's the Captain America's Shield. I decided to make a polymer clay cane, then cut into little beads. Doesn't make sense, that's alright, I will do a tutorial on it. Not this one, it didn't turn out how I wanted it to; but, I do know what adjustments I need to make and, hopefully, it will turn out how I want it to. I will show some steps on this post.
Here is where I'm starting to put it together, I like to make little clay pebbles and put them together like a mosaic when I have to fill a large area (except the star). Then, I'll coil tubes of clay if I have to fill a large area around the piece.
I skipped a few steps, but, this is what the cane starts to look like as you are "squishing" the clay into a cylinder. I never looks right and you may think it is ruined, but it's not. I will cover how to do this on the tutorial.
When you do get it down to the circumference you want it, you will slice it. This is the middle section, that's where it is the best. I still use the outer sections even though they look a little funky. This will be sliced up into little beads. I know exactly what I have to do for my next one, the white stripe became a little white line, so, more white on the white stripe next time. Hopefully, that will work. There will be other adjustments I make next time, but, you will have to stay tuned to see.
I hope everyone has an awesome day. Leave a comment, send a message or visit my other sites: facebook.com/caliradan, twitter.com/caliradan, instagram.com/caliradan. Happy Imagining!

Space... The Final Frontier...
This is a painting that my Father didn't finish. As you can see, it is a space scene. I wonder if he was going to add a spaceship zooming by, another planet with more detail, a space station floating along or maybe an UFO. My Dad use to airbrush, which is something I would love to learn how to do. You can see in this painting that some of the background is airbrushed. My best guess to when this was painted is the early 80's.
Please stay posted and have a great day. Happy Imagining!
