Warm, Chunky, Gray Scarf

This is a scarf I'm currently making for James'. I made him a hat (pictured below) a couple of years ago. For some reason, this scarf is taking me awhile to finish it. I guess they always take a little while longer than say, a hat. I joke around and say, "By the time I'm finished with the scarf, it will be too warm to wear it." Which is probably not too far from the truth.

Here is the hat. He chose the yarn; a nice, chunky, charcoal gray that is very warm. I think I may have to "borrow" the scarf when I finish it.

Happy Chinese New Year! The Year of the Horse!

It is impossible to escape all of the hype of the Denver Broncos going to the Super Bowl here in the Denver-Metro Area, so, my Mom and me decided to go to the team store at Mile High Stadium (Denver area people will understand why I just call it Mile High; though, no disrespect to Sports Authority, they are a Denver based company). I was thinking since the Broncos are going to the Super Bowl, I would look for an Orange Crush t-shirt and an old school Denver "D" (with the horse coming out of the center) t-shirt. Apparently, those are the popular shirts. Well... I didn't find the shirts I wanted, but, I did get some pictures of the horse statues in front of the south stands (until my camera died, I need a new one). Also, it is the Chinese New Year, and, it is the year of the horse... wouldn't you know?!

Well, I guess it would be appropriate for me to say this, Go Broncos! Happy Chinese New year. And, Happy Imagining!

The Eagle

I really like this painting that my Father painted back in 1983, it's kind of a mix between a nature painting and fantasy. The eagle is my favorite part, I love birds of prey, they're so fascinating. Like I said before, my Dad went through phases in his paintings. This must of been towards the end of the fantasy phase which a main portion of it was in the 70's when he was painting on the sides of vehicles and motorcycle tanks.

Well, I should be going. Happy Imagining!

My Future is So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades

I like this picture, this was taken with my HTC One X when I first got it. I like playing with different filters on the camera, it's fun. I could only imagine what it would be like to have a digital SLR, I can't wait til I save enough money to buy one, that will be so awesome!

Lately, I've been a little busy with the kitchen and my belt test is coming up so I've been concentrating on that lately, plus everyday mundane stuff. February is going to be better when it comes to creativity, I have so many ideas running around in my head, it will be great!

Please stay tuned, I will be back with more projects. Happy Imagining!

A Little Splash of Color for Our Back-Splash

We have been spending our spare time on our kitchen, so here is a preview of part of our back-splash. We decided to do a glass tile back-splash and found this tile at The Home Depot. We are so close to being done, it's exciting!

Please stay tuned for more kitchen updates. Visit me at facebook.com/caliradan, twitter.com/caliradan, or instagram.com/caliradan. Happy Imagining!

A Doodle to Get My Noodle Moving

When my creative brain won't budge, I draw these little doodles. I saw this awhile back on a tutorial on YouTube, very good idea for the visual creative type to get doodles out. I imagine that writers might write non-sense on a page or that musicians may just play whatever on their instruments, this is me just drawing whatever to get it out of me. It's very simple designs and is easy to do. Plus, that's where I start most of my projects, I draw on paper of an idea that I have; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

What kind of things do you do to get your creative brain moving? Feel free to comment or visit me on the other sites: facebook.com/caliradan, twitter.com/caliradan, instagram.com/caliradan. Happy Imagining!

Beads, Beads... and More Beads!

I have found some of my polymer clay beads made from canes. I have a great idea for my next polymer clay cane, I will do a tutorial on that as soon as I find exactly what I need to start it. What is pictured: (top row, left to right) California Roll bead, pink-brown swirl, purple-blue-indigo-green quarters encased in black. (bottom row, left to right) California Roll bead, ladybug, eraser (I think it looks like an eraser I had when I was a kid).

Stayed tuned, soon, I will have the massive kitchen tutorial. I will also get that polymer clay cane tutorial going. Happy Imagining!
